I Believe [A Poem]

i believe in second chances
breathless kisses; and high school dances
i believe in eternal life
bloody knife; and endless strife
i believe in rainy days
married gays; and better ways
i believe in real late nights
petty fights; and making rights
i believe in boundless dreams
broken seams; and pregnant teens.

everything i see is real
to much terror to reveal
darkened shadows, hollowed ground
it wont give up, a frightening sound

i believe in open minds
amazing finds; and changing lives
i believe in springtime flowers
twenty four hours; and baby showers
i believe in peace on earth
you'll never see how much it's worth

it's worth it just to be alive.
for all the things that we do strive
im feeling awfully hip and jive
just sing my song, let flow the rhymes
keep it going all our lives
